We are an independent, locally-run interior trim and custom carpentry team with over 75 years of combined experience. We are always adding new experts to expand capacity to run crews to service the expanding home developments in the triangle and surrounding areas.
We contract with homebuilders, superintendents, designers and skilled tradesmen to complete full renovation, remodeling, and general contracting services in the triangle and surrounding areas. MEET THE OWNER
Richard Wright has been a carpenter for over 26 years, having started framing with his father’s company at the age of 16. This foundation taught him the importance of strong, quality work, because you have to have a strong frame if you are to build a home. Over the years, Richard has tried his hand at all aspects of home carpentry. He found that interior trim and furniture making really offers the chance to hone in on the small details and creatively shape each project to the uniqueness of each home.
Rich’s core values of quality first, timeliness, thoroughness and attention to detail speak for themselves in his work. He runs his crew with the same expectations, and takes pride that each project done is done expertly, quickly, and cleanly.
BEHIND THE NAME
Imagine this. You are building an heirloom kitchen table and begin to plane down the barnwood reclaimed from Grandpa’s old farm. One particular 4x4 reveals layer after layer of a new grain pattern, intricate and mesmerizing, something you haven’t quite seen before. The grain tells a story- it is the age lines of the wood and a reflection of the passage of history in the trees, and in the structures that frame our lives.
The grain is ancient and hidden: Arcane. Our company name reflects this respect for the hidden qualities of the wood that we rely on in our most important structures- our homes. At the foundation of everything we do is reverence for this aspect of woodworking, so we pay attention to every little detail and create only the highest quality of work in all that we do here at Arcane Grain.
